Australian Jewish Welfare Society

Welfare organisation conceived in 1935 in response to persecution of Jews in Europe, which launched an appeal to save German Jewry through migration on the first day of Passover, 7 April 1936. In subsequent decades the organisation became a major welfare service provider to the Jewish community, in aged care, family services, mental health and other areas.
