Lyndhurst

House

House built for Colonial Surgeon James Bowman and designed by John Verge. It was later used as a theological college and Catholic school, along with many other uses, and was almost derelict by 1972. Saved by community action from demolition for a proposed freeway, the house was restored by the Heritage Council and Historic Houses Trust.
